Posted: 2018-10-01

Hans Peter's researchpaper 'Why we need Conscious Artificial Intelligence is referenced in the book 'Machine Dreaming and Consciousness' by J.F. Pagel and Philip Kirshtein.

Hans Peter's (working) definition for consciousness, 'The ability for a system to rise above it's own initial programming', is listed besides definitions from Aristotle, Decartes, Nietsche, Kant, Foucault, Nagel, Dennet, Searle and several other great and famous scientists.

Besides that, the authors state (in the reference listing) that Hans Peter's paper is 'The current best statement of criteria required that might mark the development of consciousness in a machine system'.
